Valentine Tees with Project Run and Play

You may not be aware, but I *LOVE* a cute graphic tee. 😃 With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you know I had several ideas brewing. I was able to knock out two just in time for today’s flash sale on tee shirt patterns in the Project Run and Play shop! All nine of the tee patterns in the PRP shop are 30 percent off for today only, and there are some great ones in there!!

What we have here are the Umaru and Chestnut tee patterns. Both are great basic patterns that also come loaded with options! The Umaru also comes with it’s own adorable little face kit!! 🤩🤩

Normally, I love a holiday tee that is specifically for just one day. But I am really trying to build a mix and match wardrobe for my daughter to wear from now through the summer, (the girl grows slower than tar, which is great for sewing!) so I went with ones that will blend seamlessly with everything else I have planned. We went to Hobby Lobby, both fell in love with that rainbow striped tulle skirt, and thus our color palate was sealed. I was actually surprised at how little I needed to buy… apparently I’ve been collecting neon fabric for a while now.

Details! I know that’s what you are here for. And plenty of cute pictures. Like I said before, this is the Umaru tee, stripped down to it’s most basic. Which is a little crazy, since it has the most options of any t-shirt pattern I own (I have 14). I found the interlock jersey remnant at Fabricland Canada, and it has been patiently waiting in my stash until the time was ripe to use it! For the cute graphic, I bugged my sister, the super talented artist, to sketch out some ideas I had written down, and the results are Cat and Jack approved!!! Seriously, I swear I could slip this on a manequin at Target and no one would be the wiser. She’s so good!! It helps that I’ve recently discovered layering vinyl, and to say I’m obsessed is an understatement. I just think it takes these designs to the next level! The vinyl is all from Cricut and Siser, whichever brand had the colors I was looking for in stock at Michaels.

I will say that I have been completely blown away by my Cricut Easy Press!! It’s one of those tools I never would have ever purchased, just because I felt like it was extra. I mean, I have an iron, that works just as well, right? Turns out that is 100% NOT true!! I always had trouble getting vinyl to stick, even if I set a timer, when using my iron. I am shocked and amazed at how much better all the brands of vinyl adhere to the fabric when I use the Easy Press. It’s unbelievable.

This cute little number is the Chestnut tee! I did the regular neckband, since I’m not much of a turtleneck girl, and the straight long sleeve. I couldn’t help adding a tiny hack to the sleeve hem, some cute little ruffles. The neon yellow interlock also came from a Fabricland remnant bin, probably at the same time as the pink. I really wish I had some more, they are super soft and the colors are awesome! Super hard to photograph. But so cute in person!

Don’t forget to check out the PRP pattern shop and pick up a new t-shirt pattern! There’s a whole week left to whip up some special holiday tees!!!
