Ripley Swimsuit Blog Tour

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this adorable swimsuit since I first saw all the line drawings for the Project Watercolor Beach collection!

I just love the design of it, with the cute little ruffled straps and cross over front. Since it released after the rest of the collection, I went ahead and used different fabric, which actually coordinates with my *next* collection! So think of this as a sneak peek for the PRP Summer Hack-stravaganza coming up in a few weeks. 😁😁

This is my first, and quite honestly, probably last swimsuit upcycle. I found a bunch of these beautiful tankini tops with no bottoms at my favorite “fabric store”, Half of Half. It’s a fantastic name brand discount store, and there are a few scattered across the midwest if you are lucky enough to live within driving distance of one!

In any case, these beauties were $4 a piece, so I snatched up as many as I could find. Let me tell you, seam ripping a commercially sewn swimsuit is NOT for the faint of heart. Neither is sewing with such *incredibly thin* swim fabric! It made me exponentially thankful for RCF and the other fabulous fabric companies who sell good quality swim knits. Quality fabric makes sewing SO. MUCH. EASIER.

This cute suit is already in heavy rotation in our swim wardrobe, after only 2 days. 😏 When it’s good, it’s good, you know?
