I love the easy design of Ruthie. It’s a banded design with a top or dress length and straps with an optional ruffle. It comes together SO quickly, you could sew a million of these and fill up a summer capsule wardrobe in no time!
I made two in an afternoon. I’ve been saving this awesome embroidered voile forever!
Mini Me keeps pulling these cute french bulldogs out and setting them on my machine. A subtle hint that she would like to wear them. 😏 The oversized pom poms take it to the next level, and then you add an actual puppy for photos, and I’m dying of cuteness!
The puppy poplin is from Mood Fabrics, and the embroidered voile was a seasonal fabric at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. It was actually double- layered and attached to elastic for one of those quick sew skirts, but for $4/ yard, I just unpicked everything and got 10 yards of 18″ fabric, plus 4 yards of 2″ elastic for $16!
The Sylvie shorts are a great classic design, with cute pocket detail and a really nice, clean finish on the inside.
I think I’m going to hack Ruthie into a tiered dress next! It would be so cute and *extra* twirly.
