Pattern Testing

Stella Dress

I LOVE the look of TuTu du Monde dresses. They are just so decadent and fluffy and detailed and I want all of them!! Violette Field Threads released a mini collection of dance wear inspired dresses and Leo’s in February and I KNEW I needed every pattern.

The Stella dress is hands down my favorite pattern in this collection. It features a simple cami bodice, with options for adding a tulle skirt or making it top length.

Instructions are included to finish the top and straps with either fold over elastic or knit binding. Both finishes look incredibly professional, and are much easier to execute than I thought!

I made two Stella’s in testing, and every time I need dance wear, this will be my go-to pattern! I seriously can’t get enough.

I used some of my precious sequin mesh for this bodice. It only needs a fat quarter, so I didn’t feel bad cutting into it! Even though just that much cost more than almost any other cut of fabric I have purchased 🙈🙈

I hand-stitched a rose applique to this pink one. I salvaged the applique off a shirt that I bought on clearance years ago…when I worked at the mall and left every shift with a least one purchase. Those were the days! 😜

Mini Me is so excited to wear these to ballet class! And lounge around the house in them. Watching Netflix is never an occasion where you can be too overdressed. 😏

Until next time, happy sewing!
