Star Boy Skinny Jeans for Project Run and Play

Project Run and Play just added a million new patterns to the PRP pattern shop!!

Ok. Maybe not an actual million. But twenty! Which is their largest pattern drop to date. The awesome thing about most of the new patterns is that almost every new pattern is unisex! Girls get new pants! And boys get new pants! Everybody gets new pants!😀😀😀

Since I have taken on quite a few projects in other areas of life, I had to limit myself to just one new pattern. I decided the Star Boy Skinny Jeans, from Made by Jack’s Mum would be the perfect addition to my spring collection. 😁 I always lean toward skirts and dresses (for myself as well as my daughter,) but my mini me almost always grabs pants first. Actually, that’s not totally true. She layers pants under skirts 90% of the time. 🙄 Like, ones that totally don’t match. I dictate what she wears to certain events and photoshoots, and the rest of the time I give her free reign to dress herself. Her poor school teachers 😶😶😶😶

We all know colored denim is super hot right now! I found this amazing stretch turquoise denim at Mood Fabrics. Once yard was plenty of these jeans, and they have all the bells and whistles! Back yoke, zip fly, faux fly or elastic waistband, real front and back pockets, the whole 9 yards. We did a faux fly, and I did throw some elastic in the back waistband to keep them snug over her sway back.

She was absolutely *thrilled* with the rainbow pocket detail I came up with! The pattern comes with super cute star appliques, which are definitely going on the lemon yellow pair I already have on my cutting table. 😊

I made a super cute yellow and white stripe top for this photoshoot, but kids have a way of knocking the wind out of your sails. Apparently it looks like a clown shirt, and she insisted this graphic tee (from Valentine’s Day!) was much better. I will admit, it’s pretty cute that the toothpaste matches the jeans, so maybe her fashion sense isn’t completely hopleless after all. 😏😏
